Examinations

City and Guilds
The English Study Centre is a recognised Examination Centre.
Examinations in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) are available at five levels: Basic, Elementary, Intermediate, Higher Intermediate and Advanced.

These levels correspond to levels 2,3,4,5,6 and 7 of the English Speaking Union framework and the examinations are suitable for anyone who needs a certificate of their general ability in the Use of English.

The higher levels are recognised by many Universities and Colleges for matriculation purposes.

The exam lasts between 2 and 3 hours, depending on level, and tests listening, English usage, reading and writing.

City and Guilds examinations can be arranged for groups or individuals who can give at least 3 weeks notice. The examination fee is approximately £35 per candidate.

Examination Advice
The English Study Centre can also advise and prepare students for  IELTS,
and Cambridge examinations.
